The entire report is a reflective analysis of an interview which was conducted by me with a client who belongs to my neighborhood. The client told me that he is a 58-year-old male who works in a private company in Melbourne, Australia. The patient has faced serious issues related to his cognitive abilities for example short-term memory loss, low work processing skills and low speed of fast learning. I have planned a “Cognitive behavioral therapy” plan to improve the condition of the client. I have also implemented my macro and micro counseling abilities to improve the condition of the patient very fast.
2.0 Discussion
2.1 Identification of techniques and approaches
A counsellor has different kind of goals which he achieve through different kinds of therapy techniques and approaches. The main challenge in this case was to improve the condition of the client significantly. I have taken different kinds of approaches and techniques for the improvement of the client's decreased cognitive abilities. The main technique that I have used in the care process of the patient is “Cognitive behavioral therapy” (Turner et al. 2021). This therapy process involves various steps to improve the condition of the client. It also consists of various approaches such as psychological education, restructuring techniques of cognitive abilities, memory enhancement techniques etc. This plan helps me to implement this therapy technique on the client. First I have explained different kinds of cognitive behavioral therapy” techniques to improve the knowledge of the patient. This process was implemented by me to decrease the level of anxiety in my client (Fuchs et al. 2019). After implementing this process, I have created a detailed “cognitive ability restructure technique” to improve the condition of the patient. The entire process helps the client to remove the different kinds of negative thoughts from the mind of the client. The process of “Cognitive behavioral therapy” consists of various kinds of questions which are related to the client's anxious thoughts regarding his cognitive abilities. The next process involves the implementation of different kinds of memory improvement approaches. All of these techniques have created a successful impact on the mental health of the client.

2.2 Identification of self-strengths, Weaknesses, Threats and Opportunities
As a psychological counsellor, I have the privilege of working with patients facing challenges in declining cognitive ability. This work requires unique skills and abilities in patient counselling. One of my greatest strengths is my deep understanding of cognitive degeneration in older people. I always keep myself up to date with different researchers about cognitive health and the development of cognitive health (Johansson et al. 2019). I am able to apply my knowledge to people who need therapy to develop cognitive health. I am very skilled in treating my patients to cure them from cognitive development. I have learned and applied different types of intervention procedures for many years for stimulation therapy of my patients. In addition to my strengths, I have some weaknesses which sometimes create difficulties in the therapy process. I am aware of it and working to address it. Sometimes I was facing confusing situations on details of my patient's cases. This can make it difficult for me to see the progress of my patients. I am addressing it as a weakness to improve myself and be mindful of my own thoughts and feelings (Roesler et al. 2019). In terms of threats, I am aware of changes in healthcare policy that have an impact on the availability of funding for psychological therapy. I also see the number of opportunities for psychological counsellors to treat and treat patients with cognitive dysfunction. These opportunities help to make a new intervention for the treatment of patients with lower cognitive function (Willson et al. 2019). I am interested in the area of psychological counselling of patient to develop their cognitive health and abilities.
2.3 Commenting on self-micro and Macro Counselling Skills
As a counsellor, I have applied both macro and micro counselling skills in the “Cognitive behavioral therapy”. Both of these skills played an important role in the counselling part. Through the application of both skills, I identified the balance between both skills. These skills provided a cast range of competencies that not only helped me to develop my one to one relationships in the therapeutic system but also in a great range of organizational and systemic contexts. Micro counselling skill is the building block of enhancing effective communication. I have used active listening in my micro-level practice (Wilhelm et al. 2019). It mainly defines being fully present with the clients and turning their thoughts and feelings empathetically. My ability to develop a nonjudgmental and free space for the clients helped me to deepen my relationship with them. Moreover, I learned to ask the clients about open-ended questions which mainly helped them in self-discovery and exploration. On the macro level, my understanding has grown about system thinking (Gutkin et al. 2019). It helped me to identify and address several systematic issues that left a deep impact on my clients too. Recognizing individuals as a part of a larger cultural and social scale has become the center of my practice. By using this skill in my counselling sessions or practices I have developed various skills in policy analysis, advocacy and engagement with the community. These are very much important to advocate client rights and their contribution to social changes. My ability to collaborate with others who are mainly professionals like psychologists or social workers helped me to expand my macro level impact. I've also learned about the symbiotic relationship between macro and micro skills (Gilbert et al. 2019). In my development, counselling ethics has also been a cornerstone. Because both the macro and micro skills are underpinned by principles which are ethical.
3.0 Conclusion
The various theories of counselling mainly provide different frameworks for a better understanding of human behavior and different emotional challenges. In the therapeutic process, all the theories provide a unique perspective. This emphasizes different type of aspects the client and counsellor relationship and the factors that contribute to psychological well-being. In the field of counseling the theories should be aligned with the client's needs and expertise of the therapist. Identification of the demographic information of the participants helps in the identification and understanding of the problems. Also, the application of micro and macro counselling skills helps the clients to facilitate personal growth and the enhancement of overall well-being. This reflective analysis contains and highlights the positive effects that were developed in the client's mental health through “Cognitive behavioral therapy”.
