In a project, the “construction manager” plays an important role in making the project successful. In order to play such an important role there are some qualities that the “construction manager” should possess (Oleinik et al. 2018). These are the abilities that decide whether the project will be successful or not. Firstly, it was found that it is very necessary for a “construction manager” to read & interpret the various drawings that are prepared for the project. The reason behind this is on the basis of the drawings the different items such as “specifications” & “permits” are decided. Moreover, on the basis of this, the “future activities” are also decided. On the basis of the nature of work, the activities can also be categorized (Afrida, 2022). These are the “planning stage”, “substructure stage”, “envelop stage”, “finishing stage” and “MEP stage”. These can also be divided into subcategories. This is done to specify the work involved at that stage. The two main activities that were performed in this report are described below.
Discussion
Cross-sectional Drawing
The figure above describes the plan for the project proposed. This represents the top view of the project seen at the level of the window seal. It represents the area in which the project will be situated (Russell et al. 2018). Moreover, it also has a description of the “internal partitions” that the structure has. On the plan, a section is shown in which direction a section of the structure has been developed.
The figure above shows the elevation of the structure when seen along the direction of A-A. This represents the “frontal view” of the structure seen from a particular direction (Lee et al. 2022). The main objective behind obtaining this picture is to highlight the “internal details” of the structure.
The figure above is the representation of the plan of the proposed structure of this project. This was developed to show the sections B-B on it. Along this section, the “sectional elevation” along B-B was prepared.
The “sectional elevation” along sections B-B is shown in the picture above. It describes how the structure will look in the “frontal view” when looked along sections B-B.
Work Breakdown Structure
The figure above gives a description of the “work-breakdown structure” of the project. It means the categorization of the different activities that are involved in this project. The aim of this is to establish a proper sequence with which each of the activities can be carried out with ease (Dzhusoev et al. 2019). Moreover, also the intention behind this is to reduce the time incurred in completing this project. It also takes into account the sequence following which it will be possible to finish the work with minimal cost.
The figure above describes the sequence of the activities that will be carried out (Durham et al. 2018). Moreover, there is also a description of the estimate that is made to predict the possible time that each of the activities can take.
Conclusion
There are many important aspects of “construction projects” that one can identify from this report. Moreover, this report describes the importance of a “construction manager” in running a project successfully. In addition to that, the responsibilities that a ”construction manager” need to take and the qualities that he should possess are also identified in this report. The first thing that this report tells that it is very much necessary for a ”construction manager” to read the drawings that were prepared for a “construction project”. This forms the base on which the planning of the stages of construction is made. It is because on the basis of the drawings the “permits”, “estimates” and the “specifications” are decided. In addition to that, after planning all the activities, it is also necessary to plan the sequence of the activities. This is necessary for completing the project at the earliest time possible and at the same time with the lowest possible cost. These activities can be classified into different categories. This categorization is made on the basis of the nature of the work involved in those stages. These are the “planning stage”, “substructure stage”, “envelop stage”, “finishing stage” and “MEP stage”. All of these can be categorized further into some “subcategories”. These “subcategories” gives descriptions of the works that are involved in those categories.
